Default Problem finding replacement airbox clips (98.5 2.8)

I'm having difficulty ordering direct replacement airbox clips for my 2.8 - one broke last week (https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1868582.phtml). So, Scottsdale Audi orders a few up for me and I pick them up... Part #078-129-797, what their EKTA says for a 98.5 2.8 QMS, but THEY'RE NOT THE SAME CLIP (see pic for comparison to OEM). I take them back, they say, "Maybe the warehouse screwed up and put the wrong ones in the bag." So, they re-order the clips and the SAME WRONG ONES come back.

They don't know what to do, they're saying maybe they can "make one of the clips 'work'". ?!?! My feeling is, NO, YOU FIND MY ***** F&*KING CORRECT CLIPS!!! I'm not going to bend and tweak something that isn't a direct replacement. These larger clips are for some other era of Audi airbox, not the 1998.5 2.8's.

Can someone take a look at their EKTA and see if, in fact, the airbox clips on the 98 2.8 are 078-129-797? Additionally, can people with 1998-era cars look to see if their clips are like those on the left or on the right-hand side of this picture?

Thanks...

Default Looking at

the information I have ... that part number is good. I show the same part number for 98, 98.5, 99 and 99.5 1.8t, 2.8 and 2.7tt (I didn't check farther) I wonder if Audi didn't just make a running change?

Well, it won't fit... do I need to go out and get a whole new airbox? or visit the junkyard?

Default I'd visit a junk yard before swapping out the whole air box.

You could also take a shot at getting a clip from here and see if it matches yours.

http://www.impexfap.com/partlist.cfm?getpart=44900&PARTNUMBERSEARCH=07 8129797#part44900</a
