Puff of smoke--Check engine!
Started my car today to go to the Steeler game (Tennessee won of course) and the engine was running fairly rough. Looked out the rear view mirror and observed white smoke. I revved the engine--slightly-- to clear out what I thought was excess fuel from the last time I had run the car, which was yesterday to pull the car in and out of the garage.<p>I have heard that the 1.8T was prone to quick start and engine stop problems. Now my check engine light remains on, even after I drove the car to the game and back. The car ,however, is now running fine. Any suggestions would be welcome. Does the dealer have to reset this light? I am due for 5000 mile service anyway.
