Question about differential
Hey Guys,
Wanted to ask if someone coould xplain something. If you missed my previous post yesterday, I went to my Audi Delear to have my tie-rod recall done. They said that they were fine and didn't replace them, but upon 21 inspection before giving me my car back they found a leak in the "right side differential axle" and said it was leaking differentail oil.....bad? Anyways I let them fix it, thank goodness for Audi Assured only $50 bucks, if I didn't have that they said parts and labor would have been close to $300. Anyways so wha I'm getting at is that I was leaking differentail oil, is this really really bad for our cars since we have Quattro. I had been smelling a burning smell last few days, I guess that's what it was..... --Asif |

eh?

A minor leak isn't bad
Although depending on how long it had been there, who knows. My rear dif seals were replaced around 49k miles - just under the warranty.

hmm
My car's about at 51K now, so I guess around 50K might be the norm of them going out.
