Question about the oil temp gauge, for those of you who've had your dash apart...
How easy would it be to just rotate the oil temp gauge about its cylindrical axis so that the needle pointed straight up when the oil temp was 200?
I ask because I remember reading somewhere that Richard Petty used to rotate his gauges so that they were all pointing straight up when in the normal range, and I thought this was a keen idea. I always check to make sure the oil is warm before gunning it the first time, and rotating the gauge would make this check a LOT quicker -- useful when you're trying to pass on a two lane on-ramp...
Thanks in advance if anyone knows! :-)

-vik ("let's see, one mark equals 25 degrees, so 150 plus....ohhhh...about 1.75 marks equals....ummmm...." -- you see the problem? ;-)
99.5 1.8tqms

Think it's a lot easier just to rmemeber what needle inclination corresp. to normal temp
So it takes you a second to glance at the gauge. When in street driving is a second all that important? Al your brain has to remember is "X" degrees of tilt is OK.
Another option: jsut wait 10 minutes after starting it before playing boy-racer
