Question about Timing Belt...

On the 30v, people do occasionally report better performance after changing the belt.
Assuming this is true, the obvious reason is that the cam timing was off before the belt job and afterward it is back in time. The question is: why is the cam timing off to begin with? It is that the old belt was not installed correctly, or has the belt and other components worn over the last 75k?

I think perhaps its the belt stretching a bit over time...
my timing was slightly off by barely even a tooth. Just enough that the cam bar wouldn't fit until I took off the belt.

a comment....
I've done numerous timing belts and it did improve things. Recently though, I decided to do the cam chains along with the t-belt on the families 30v and it really made a huge improvement. I did really retentively set the timing though when indexing/tensioning the belt. The torque was much better, along with what seemed to be a wider band(MPG improved).
