questions about clutch on 2.8 - how can you tell the clutch is going bad?

I have 175K on my original clutch and I'm not sure how much longer it will last. I will be driving cross-coutry and I don't want it to go out during the trip.

My car hasn't been abused but I do tow a trailer and drive it hard sometimes.

Are there any ways to tell if the clutch is going or how much material is left?

What is the recomended plate to get a cluthc kit? I will go OEM.

when you got to shift and you start to hit the gas, if the rpms seem to go higher

without you accelrating normal, then you clutch is slipping.

ECS has a 30v Sach clutch for $269.95.

A SB stage 1 will run you around $395.

Not sure

seeing that I dont work for "ecs". But it has to be better then buying from Ebay :P

I saw that. Blau has a simialar kit for $223, but they are out of stock

is it worth going to a SB stage 1 if I don't have too many performance mods?

Well if you do go with a SB

you will know the clutch will hold if you do add any power mods.
