that's what I though too. So i call airport security and they said it would be ok as long as they can x-ray it. Just no metal detector... We'll see. They assure me that the x-ray is safe.

I would loosen the screws in case you need to open it up.
Once open, it's clear it's nothing more than a circuit board. That shouldn't be an issue. Don't bring a screwdriver...that will most likely get confiscated.
