Radio Reset
My radio in my 1996 A4 is in "Safe" mode. I know which buttons I have to press and I also know my radio code, but even after doing this the radio is not resetting. Do I have to disconnect the battery for a half hour first? Do I have to pull my radio out of the dashboard? What should I do to reset my radio.

Actually.. the ign key must be IN the ignition. Doesn't need to be on. Radio must be on for 1 hour..
then it will reset the SAFE mode an allow you to enter the codes again.

I just did this yesterday.
i replaced my alternator on Saturday and had the battery disconnected. I went to drive on Sunday and the radio was on safe mode. I left the car running and i held down the RBDS button and the one below it (C.SCAN?) for a few seconds until 1000 appeared, then i used the station buttons 1-4 to put in the Code. When the code was in i pused and held RBDS and C.SCAN buttons for a few seconds until the radio turned on. It was simple and worked on the first try.
