Default German vs Japanese cars, reliability & quality

Jury still out on this. But I have to say there are a lot more preventative maintenance procedures vs Japanese cars as the miles roll out. That said, the Japanese cars are somewhat “antiseptic” and not as ready or eager for a spirited drive.
Buying and selecting a car is purely an emotional and financial experience; the quality and reliability being imbedded items in the car and offset as part of the cost of ownership...

You're absolutely right though, you don't buy an Audi if you're concerned about maint costs.. its all about the drive.
