RPM and AC
I have a 98.5 1.8T with 60K miles.
I have noticed that when I am driving with the AC is on and then push the clutch in, the rpms fall to 600, at which point i feel like the car was about to stall for a split second, and then the rpms bounce back to ~1000 rpm like they should. This only happens when the AC is on. If on the same drive i turn off the AC and push the clutch in while driving, the rpms will fall to 1000 and stay there and i get no vibration. What could this be????? Thanks. |
The AC takes a lot out of our cars....it's pretty common. There is a lot less power
when accelerating as well. It's just something you have to live with. Personally, 4 windows and the sunroof provide plenty of air for me, so I don't use the AC too much.
If you search (button in upper corner of page) for this same thing, you will find plenty of info. I'm still a noob myself, but for a lot of my intro questions (when I first purchased my A4) I was advised to search. It makes life easier on everyone. |
