Say you had 5 grand to spend.....
Ok, i am finally getting closer to getting an A4. I will have about 15k to play with. I plan on putting 10k down, and keeping 5k to mod with. The car im set on is a 01, 1.8tQ. I added it all up last night and i can get some decent performance as well as a good lookin car for about 5g's. I had a body-kit, wheels, springs, exhaust, chip, K&N and a few other small things. I need show and go. And it will be more go within the year. What would you spend 5g's on to have a good lookin, quick A4?

A8 brakes ~500 K04 ~1500 borla exhaust ~500 18" Rs4 replica rims/tires ~1200 tints ~200 shortshifter ~200 a good body kit will eat up a lot of your 5 grand. You not only have to buy the bumper,sides and rear but you also have to have them painted and installed. I'd rather spend the money on going fast..er while still making some decent exterior modifications |
Your list sounds good. I'd lean towars more go than show.

Get APR Stage 3, wheels and suspension...Thats more then 5g's but sell your odl parts.

A cheaper route would be a k04, wheels and tires, suspension, and exhaust
plus all the extras to play around with. Like boost gauge, e code headlights etc. The K04 is a great power upgrade but if ou desire more there is the PES T-28 kit which runs at about $3800, of course you will need all the goodies such as a new clutch to handle the power and a Front Mount InterCooler or FMIC to get it to run really well. That alone will run you a bit over 5k but the power is amazing and your most expensive modding would be done.

My list was:
wheels/tires-1100 body-kit-1100 exhaust-600 springs-300 chip-400 K&N-50 tints-150 I have a hook-up on body shop work, so paint and install is minimal. It will be less than a grand to get my kit, springs and exhaust put on. Leaving a little left. Does this list not sound good as a start off point? |
if you get a body kit i would think you should add Ecodes and HIDs to the list:)

what about shocks...
don't do the springs until you can do shocks at same time. i think i'd wait on the exaust and do shocks and anti-roll bars.
