Second Intercooler?

Has anyone ever installed a second intercooler, like the one in an S4 or a 225hp TT? I'm wondering if it may be easier than installing a front mounted intercooler.

probably not worth the effort....

after finding a second IC, you'll probably have to fabricate all the additional piping yourself and integrate it into the intake's charge path before the stock IC. You'll also need to be concerned with pressure drop, not to mention the already-poor endtanks on the stock IC. (Plastic attached to metal? Come on, Audi! Wake UP!) FMIC prices will be coming down soon with APR's setup, and it's a beauty.

I kind of figured it would be a pain in the ***, and that a front mount would be better. I'm kind of new here...who's FMIC? Is the Greedspeed front mount for $850 any good?

FMIC is short for front-mount intercooler...

I'm not familiar with Greedspeed's FMIC. APR is also introducing their FMIC pretty soon, and it's rumored to be around that price or perhaps lower. It will also have directional vanes in the endtanks to reduce pressure drop and disperse the charge across the entire core. The endtanks are going to be cast as well.
