Secondary fan Q. Secondary fan is not coming on when its suppose to. Fuse or relay suspect??
I just got my AC working after they replaced the orifice tube, the plunger in it had stopped opening/closing (was stuck). This takes care of the uneven and dangerously high pressure issue which was dumping the freon. We noticed that the electric fan does not come on when it is suppose to. It is about 95 degrees here and we turned the AC on full blast while the car was idling, the electric fan should turn on in this scenario correct? We disconnected the line over by the windshield washer reservoir to check everything. Jumped power from battery and the fan turned on, so fan works fine. They said there was no power coming from the source line though. We checked the fuses in fuse bix by knee bolster, all alright. My question is 1) are we right that the fan should come on in this situation 2) what is likily the culprit for no power (where are other fuses or relays that would pertain?!) and 3) if the wiring is caput, could I just make it a manually switched fan using the existing wiring? I am at class and then have to run back by the shop so I dont really have time to do any investigating of my own (IE searching) any help is appreciated. I'l;l be able to check back in 2 hours after class.

This is going to sound really stupid, but where does it plug in? Into compressor?!
Into the compressor would make sense, or a bung near the compressor in the actual line. Just curious where exactly I should snoop around. Or should I just make it manually switched fan?
