Should I get a 2002 4 cyl auto w/sports package, or hold out for a 2001 6 cyl w/manual avant?

Hmm decisions decisions. I have the option right now to either buy a 4 cyl automatic 2002 a4 avant with about 40k miles on it for around 23k. But I love manual transmissions and something tells me the triptronic will be nothing like a true manual. I've also heard that the 4cylinder turbo is a little weak for the larger avant.

Question: Should I hold out for a 6 cylinder 2001 manual avant, or just go with the 2002 auto a4 avant ?

Default Is there a huge difference between 2001 and 2002 in terms of performance/handling/quality?

I actually found a 2001 manual, 6 cylinder, awd, with only 10K(!) audi avant for 26k. With your recomendations I'm going to be holding out for the manual :P.

But i'm just curious if the 2002 platform is way better or something..
