Some stupid n00b questions about aging car part replacement and chassis brace mods.
I have a 2000 1.8T A4, going on 80k miles.
1. Do anti-roll bars wear out like other suspension components? Perhaps some kind of fatigue mode or something? I wouldn't think so, but I thought I'd ask.
2. My engine moves around a lot. I think the engine mounts might be getting kinda soft. I want to install a snub mount. Should I also replace other engine mounts with new parts? How many engine mounts are there? Is this a huge pain in the butt?
3. I have no specific handling complaints that I can attribute directly to chassis flex. I somehow feel compelled to install upper and/or lower strut tie bars, though. Is this worth it?
Also, after my question about springs earlier this morning, it looks like I'm probably going to go with H&R S4 street coilovers. It's certainly more expensive than just getting springs, but I think it might give me the firmness I'm after while allowing me to get the ride height just the way I want it. (Here's your chance to confuse me by posting alternate options I should consider.)
