Split Second 1.8T Boost controller
Has anyone tried this product? I'm considering this rather than chipping. There's an article in May 2001 European Car magazine (on page 148) about it. It gives 30% more power (dyno tested). It works for both manual and automatic/Tiptronic transmission. It's supposed to be better than chipping the car, e.g. no down time like while you send the ECU, no warranty void issue, etc. Best of all, list price of $295. Re: Yeah it controls boost, but what about timing maps/fuel rate. No thanks
The article says that it deals with the software maps and instructions the engine uses to set boost, timing, fuel, and those myriad other engine-operating parameters.
