Default This is true of any performance tuner out there...

They all use graphics to sell us their stuff. Unless you have some information that they are BS, that data is as valid as any other...

Default looked and saw confusion

There is no real consensus about these electronic boost controllers. How can you pass judgment about them without giving specific examples of use or misuse?

I am interested in hearing from someone who has experience with them.

Are your warnings about damage in regards to manual boost controllers that bypass the ECU? This is not one of them.

Default Why don't you try it and give us feedback on it?

Ever since I first heard about the product, I've not once read about anyone using it. If you do end up using it, let us know. I'm curious about how it performs.

Default You do not need to "try it", the idea is flawed. Power is not just turning up boost (see post below

I don't need to touch a red hot poker to know it burns or drive a Yugo to know it sucks. The concept behind this thing is the problem, so no matter how high the quality is or how well executed, it ain't gonna work.

Default Uh, some tuners do use real dynos, despite what you may have heard. Also, see my post above...

concerning why I don't have to test drive this thing to know it is no replacment for a chip.

I agree with the sentiment, but it looks like it can be thrown pretty damn far.

Default I didn't say that everyone of them use false data to sell their stuff...

Only that a graph is a graph. As you said earlier, I can create a graph with MSExcel and tell you that I used a dyno. Now, we know who we can trust, right? Can Split Second be trusted?

On paper, their stuff looks good. I'm no mechanic, so the only reason I don't buy is that *I trust you guys*... But I would really like to see some real data on this thing, get somebody who tried it...

Default "Designed for stock" - European Car

Quoting from European Car:

"Boost is limited to 14.5 psi, the limits of stock
fuel availibility on an unmodified system"

EC tested this thing in a stock passat 1.8t and the data that I posted was from the EC tests on a DYnoJet 248 Dyno.

Do you trust that data now?

hmm.....
