Default Try to lube the pads where they ride on the carrier.. the noise I am thinking of is really not ..

terribly loud, at least not on my car.. The control arms, when they squeak, are really loud, you can hear them with the windows up and the stereo on.. ON my car, the brake chipr can only be really heard with the radio off or very low, and often with the wondow open..

How loud is the noise you hear?

Default definitely not loud enough to hear with the

windows up and no radio on. It only seems to come from one corner (driver's side rear). I have to have the windows down to hear it. It's only over bumps and I can hear it with the radio on, but not cranked. On at a vomlume where I could talk over it to a passenger. So is the carrier the part of the caliper that touches the pad? I'm not too sure about this part. I actually did the pads myslef a while ago...so it could be human error if it is tha pads.

Default I doubt that you caused this.. it happens to all cars, even mine...

Just take a little antisieze and LIGHTLY paint the area where the pads sit on the carrier.

Default I have the same problem on my 2001.5...

I left the car at the dealer today, see what they say. Hopefully they'll fix it because it gets annoying with the windows down in the summer. I did get a QX4 as a loaner so I'm not complaining.

Default Anti sieze paste, or brake part paste..

better autoparts stores will have the copper antisieze, which takes the heat better. There is also a blue brake lube which I have never used/ I just use the copper stuff.
