Starter issue
I have a 1996 Audi A4Q 2.8L V6 5 speed. I recently took a trip and then stopped at a rest stop for 5 minutes and then try to start the car and it wouldn't start. I had AAA guy help me jump start the battery and it didn't work. We were able to push start (popping the clutch) the car and I drove 6 hours home.
I suspect the starter as I put a new one in 2 weeks prior and it works great for 2 weeks. The one before that only lasted less than a year. So I bought another one form another vendor. I put it in and it still won't start.
There is voltage to the starter on the power line(fat black wire) and when you try to start, the starter solenoid wire (skinny black) has power. But no noise, cranking or anything. The only thing is that when the key springs back to accessories position, the fuel pump relay (208 grey relay) under the steering cloumn near your knees clicks continuously.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Are you saying that the solenoid wire gets 12V when trying to start, but there is no sound of the solenoid clicking? And does it get this 12V while connected to the solenoid terminal, or just loose?
