colorado silver

My 97 A-4 makes a chirping sound when up shifting. It is coming from the engine compartment for sure. I was watching a rally show on speedvision and the audi cars were making the same noise while downshifting and braking. sounds like a wastgate or something. any help would be appreciated. only does it when the car is unloaded between shifts.
