surging problem, need help
ok,so my car has a stuttering or surging problem when i accelerate before boost. it only happens when the motor is warm, and so far i couldnt make it stutterpast 3000rpm. is this a vacuum leak somewhere? i couldnt hear anything leaking. please help.

what year A4? do you have a chip?
I had a lot of surging on my '97 1.8tqm about a month after chipping it. I did a bunch of research and I found the culprit was my old school MAF (pre-'98.5). I replaced this with a '99 MAF (which registers more air flow), and the surging went right away, car now drives like the day I got it chipped. well it probably isn't the MAF then ..
you are definately going to want to scan the car with a VAG, see if any codes come up. I would proceed with logging block 115, to see if there is a boost leak. If not, check the spark plugs. Could be turbo related, I highly doubt it, but it's possible. Sometimes the wastegate can have issues. Get the car into a good mechanic and they should know whats up. Best of luck man.
