<br>I just had my remote functions reprogrammed. I used code 16232. I am happy with the results but have a question that does not seem to be addressed in the FAQ. Before reprogramming no lights flashed when using the remote to unlock. Now the front, rear and side lights flash twice. I am happy with this visual confirmation but I wonder which code is responsible for it. (I am thinking about removing the automatic locking/unlocking.) Also, before reprogramming, when using the remote to lock the doors, the horn would honk and the front and rear lights would flash once. Now the side marker light also flashes. Again I am happy with this additional confirmation. My car is a 98.5 A4 2.8q. My dealer's loaner car, a 97 2.8 does flash twice when unlocking with the remote like my car now does. The FAQ says the default is "lights flash when arming" but does not specify whether this means both locking and unlocking and whether reprogramming changes this as it did with my car. Has anyone with a 98.5 or later had the same experience as I did. I had my remote "dealer installed" but I don't think that makes a difference. Any comments would be appreciated.

My 98.5 that came with the remote always flashes when both locking and unlocking. The only time the horn sounds is when the car is locked. Also, all lights on my A4 light when locking and unlocking.<p>-henri
