Engine chips (like the X, etc), and the "tip" chips are for different purposes.
One is for the engine ECU and alters boost, timing, etc. The other is a transmission chip that alters the shifting response while in tiptronic mode. They are unrelated.
You can do one or the other, or both.

Oh, well thats wonderful, didnt know you could do them both. well that makes things easier. Are you 100% sure i can do them both

Yes you can. One is the tip chip. That makes the lag time on the tip shifting faster. So you get increase in how quickly the transmission will shift gears.
The other is for the engine. It will increase your rev limiter to 7100 rpms, removes your electronic governer and also gives you a 10hp gain.
They can both be installed because they serve different purposes.

Re: Gives you a hell of a lot more than 10hp gain on the 1.8T.
Depends on the model. Maybe I missed it. If you have a 2.8 it only gives a 10hp gain according to GIAC. If you have a 1.8T, it's like 70 or something.
