Default Transmission Stuck!!

Car:1998 Audi A4 V6 automatic 135,000 miles.

Problem: The tranny won't move from 3rd gear, it is stuck in that drive and when I drive the car it takes a while for the car to reach the right speed.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the cause of this?

Could it be an electrical problem? or maybe the fluid needs to be changed?

Can anyone help me with this problem?

That is 'limp mode'. I think its actually in 4th. Most likely an electrical problem, get the car scanned by Vag-Com.

Thanks. Could it be an electrical problem related to the sensors and relay? I will get it scanned today as well.

Stop driving the car. Limp mode is not good for it.
...and please post your responses in the correct location within the thread. (See threaded view if you don't know what I mean.)
