Transmission Whine?

Transmission Whine?
2001 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T, 01A transmission.
So I originally thought there was wind getting into the cabin somehow. Maybe a bad door seal or something. Ended up tracing it to a noise coming from under the E-brake. Pulled the center console out, took it for a drive. Turns out it wasn't wind noise. The Noise is definitely mechanical and is coming from either the transmission or the center differential...
Here's a link to the video of the noise:
Anyone have an idea what the noise is caused by? It increases in volume and pitch as the car increases in speed. Doesn't matter if the car is engaged or not, or what gear it's in.
Really hoping I don't have a transmission replacement in the near future
If I can fix this myself that would be fantastic
