Don't worry about it...
unless one or more of the tires are balding of course.
The "tread-depth difference" issue is SO overplayed it's laughable.
In fact, I'm laughing RIGHT NOW.

I must disagree... with a difference of more than 4/32 you will be putting stress on the torsen ..
diff. Ideally Audi says 2/32 but you can get away with a bit more. However more than 4/32 and you are wearing the center diff.

rumor has it this guy didn't worry about it
<center><img src="http://www.teraknor.net/images/mmp/IMG_1373.jpg"></center><p>until it was too late. from what I heard, he was testing some different tires the last few laps of the day and didn't care that they were slightly different sizes. something in the driveline locked up and created a little excitement. the thread on the vortex has been black-holed, but that was the speculation.
