Trunk liner for the top underside of the trunk.
I noticed in my 99.5 that the top underside of the trunk (the part where the speakers stick out from) does not have a liner. Does anymone make a liner that would mount there to protect that area when loading and unloading cargo from the trunk?

I was thinking about that Dynomat and...
if you have speakers in the rear deck there, you wouldn't want to Dynomat since most of the bass is probably generated by the fact that the speakers stick down into the trunk. Dynomat would limit the bass response then. I bet an upholstry shop could carpet it.

Actually........(more)
When you use Dynamat. you apply it to that panels that the speakers are mounted to,
none of it should be on the speakers themselves. When you dampen the panels,
you actually improve the overall sound including bass response because you get rid
of unwanted vibration & resonance. The amps will not have to work as hard because
you remove competing noise.
Here's what Crutchfield says:
Lose the bad vibes that hurt your tunes! Applied to body panels, Dynamat can reduce
noise by 3 dB or more, effectively doubling your amplifier power! And because your
music doesn't have to compete with as much ambient noise, you'll hear subtle
musical detail you hadn't heard before.
DaveW
98.5 2.8 QM
