Undercoating !!!!
Recently I posted about a chunk of undercoating being torn off my car by road debris;
Someone posted back, advising that I check for it at the auto parts store. Question is, is there a particular brand and type of undercoating I need to use ?

Matches OEM Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and other European auto makers' "body schutz" or undercoating. Can be built up because it doesn't run on vertical surfaces. SKS is water based, fast drying and flexible when dry. May be painted or left as applied. It is best applied with a Wurth SKS Gun, but may be applied with a brush. Protects against stone dings and corrosion.
It comes in beige, black or gray (I guess you'd want black for the A4) and cost $22.50 for a 1000ml container. The spray gun is pretty pricey at $54.90 so I'd probably just brush it on.
Wurth also has a product called Hi-Build Underbody Seal
A black, heavy, thick textured undercoating spray. Will not run on vertical surfaces. Great for wheel wells, rocker panels and touchups to existing undercoating. Dries to the touch in 10 minutes -- ready to paint in 30 minutes. A matt black finish when dry. Solvent based, so should be used in a well ventilated area.
They sell it for $9.45 for a 19.5 oz aerosol container.
Sounds like either product should do the trick.
