Default Update on Boostd... dealer thinks he needs a head cleaned/stuck open valves

due to deposits...

he has low compression on cyl 1 and 4...

how could this start really all of a sudden? Sludge maybe? or any other ideas?

Default Hmmmmm....

Never heard of such a thing. I would have them do a blowby test and see where the air is going.

I'm skeptical...What does "stuck valve" mean exactly?

Would that not tend to keep valves closed, hence higher compression?

Default no, if it's pumped up full, and can't compress.. though, the valve shoudl still close..

Stuck valve is either broken timing belt, or broken cams (unlikely), or broken valve spring, or broken keeper, or broken valve.

Default He's at Riverside... my guess is the cam tensioner went on him. They are checking now

he has compression of
50 75 105 50
(if memory serves)
