Want to find a '98-00 1.8T Tip for my GF (what to look out for?)
 

I'm new to this board as I have a '95.5 S6, but...

My girlfriend needs a new car BAD, and I am trying to find her a '98-'00 A4 1.8T Tiptronic (she won't drive a stick).

I think they are an awsome value, and I know enough about these cars, I think I could take care of any of the maintenance on it without any major probs. Seem to be reliable, safe, etc..

Any things I really should be watching for when looking at a potential acquisition?? Basically, any items that all go at X milage, etc. Trying to find one at or just under 100k, but mileage doesn't really bother me. I've got 150k+ on my S6.

This may help apart from the Tip tranny part.

I'd stick with the V6 and 99.5 or later.
 

I like the V6 better with the automatic. Nice torque.

The later cars got a slight facelift.
