Warning Lights

Hi Everyone,

I had my '96 cluster out to replace a bad bulb today and noticed some warning lights that I have never seen before.. There were bulbs in place, but I've never seen them light. There was one with a squiggly line (looks like a spring on its side), another had a picture of a car with a key in it (I figured this was for the alarm, but I already have an alarm indicator in the center console), and another light labeled "ASR". Any ideas?

Its not in the manual?

I got a 96 too, and actually one of my bulbs went bad yesterday. I gotta replace it too. Do you know where I can get the bulbs? Do I have to go to the dealership? hahah i dont even know how to take the cluster off. But when I do i'll see if i get the same problem.

its 2 screws... pull the plastic steering column cover to instrument cluster cover off

there are 2 screws behind there.... remove the screws. PUll cluster OUT. locate dead bulb... replace. reverse procedure.

It's not too difficult.. I had to struggle a bit with the right side connector.. You have to jockey the instrument cluster a bit to get the connectors off, but its worth it.. You may also want to pop out the whole temperature/gear display instead of trying to unplug the connector.. I think its easier. I had a speedometer bulb go out last year and took it to a local shop. $83 for the work. I learned my lesson and went to the dealer today -- I picked up 5 bulbs for $13 and did the work myself.

cool, thanks man...so do i just ask for instrument cluster bulbs then, or is there a part#..?

Re: Warning Lights - brake pad on 2.8Q

Just purchased a 99.5 A4 2.8 thru a Honda dealer. Safety required changing front pads. OK for first day or so. Now pad warning light comes on after 1-10 minutes running (independent of braking). Did they install the pads incorrectly or what? Honda dealer is 2.5 hrs away.
