of course the 1" x 1" x 1" IC wont help very much

there is an envelope of space behind the bumper.

You can have a long FMIC, a short FMIC, a thin FMIC

there are lots of ways one could be made. Now the real question he should be asking is...What FMICs that are available on the market will fit behind the bumper with only minor trimming involved.
