Default It's a worthwhile upgrade...

The A4 owners I've known with the A8 upgrade are very pleased with the results. I upgraded to TT rotors (same size as A8) on my GTI and it makes a huge difference on that car.

Default it's the ultimate in simplicity

I installed the A8s in less than 45 minutes from start to finish last night.

Haven't gotten on them to test them yet, but they look cool =P

Default I think that it removes the wet braking issue and will allow you to track your car

meaning it will consistantly stop even when the brakes are hot with out warping the rotors and destroying the pistons in the calipers.

But I doubt it will stop your car any faster. It also adds lots of undamped weight.

Check with Colorado Mark - he did it to his car (posts on Rocky Mtn forum.)

Default

Unfortunately, it did not fix wet braking for me.

Default Getting the caliper out further give you more leverage...

and the larger rotor should dissapate heat a litte better. You may also want to look at getting stainless steel lines and upgrading the brake fluid also.. if you plan on tracking the car.

Default having driven an A4 with the A8 upgrade (and high-perf. brake fluid)...

I can say that it is a pretty big improvement over stock. When my rotors are ready to go, I'll be doing this upgrade myself.

Default huge braking improvement, even with stock brake fluid,

the wet braking issue was resolved with my setup, although i bought slotted rotors for both the A8 front setup, and the stock rears...
