What is the hose in this picture right below the arrow pointing to the intake?

you mean the turbo inlet pipe (tip)

known here as the "L" hose
 
I've replaced my factory piece. I believe the replacement is an improvement over what came from the factory. It's a cheap part and easy DIY.
