What is the point of a "Shock Tower brace"? Also, what is a "vicous limited -slip differential"? What does the "vicous" prefix mean?

Viscous Limited Slip Diff.
Much like the Viscous AWD system on my Volvo. The limited slip diff works on the principal of fluid dynamics. When one wheel rotates freely because of slippage the liquid in the differential heats up and starts to "seize" forcing the shaft of the other wheel to turn in congress, hence the transfer of power to the wheel with traction (hopefully!).

A flexible mac-strut car needs additional bracing...but not ours...
My old japanese rally car had lots of flex in the unitbody, even with a reinforced floorpan. It needed strut tower bars (the force in a mac-strut design is directed to the top of the strut tower), and a full roll cage.
The A4 is vastly stiffer overall, and it has a double firewall (curtain) that works better than ANY strut bar. We don't even have struts regardless, the shock does not see top loading on a multilink suspension.
