What are some differences between pre-facelift and post-facelift B5's???

I'm trying to figure out what car I want to get this year. So what are some differences between say a '99 A4 1.8t and a 2001? Cosmetic differences and performance differences as well. Thanks guys and sorry for the noob question!

Interesting, the photoshopped car is that snazzy teal color again. They should just add that color to the options already.

Audi has no A4 test mule running around out there that I know of.

I'd be surprised if Audi did a major facelift for the A4, but it is possible this time around. Styling has been labeled as the biggest negative, with all other areas winning tests and opinions. The new A6 and A8 all have the latest styling direction, so it only makes sense the A4 follow along. I just hope they straighten out the ugly reverse lights, which currently looks like a sagging afterthought.
