Default Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3...but they're spendy too

I cranked 38k miles on a set, 18k on an '01 S4, and 20k on my avant, before selling the wheels w/decent tread remained too.

Default Hmm well it would be a worthy sacrifice with what I have heard/ researched

I plan on my next set of summer rubber to run them for DD, and get something different for track rubber.

Default gsd3's are the **** !!! but... they cost sooo much and wear quickly

I sacrificed grip for cost... i'd rather have a set with "damn good grip" in rain and dry + way cheaper. Then "zomg amazing grip" but you could buy 2 sets of any other tire

i.e.

dunlop... look at the zr1 star spec

Default have they stiffened the sidewalls in the past few years?

I remember driving on the and felt like they were snow tire softness for a sidewall

Default I don't have the star spec... i have the other ones

and yes I agree. The sidewalls feel soft (literally pushing on them with my hand ... not mounted on wheels)

BUT

I can't feel it if i'm cornering hard... maybe the low profile?
