Wheel Recommendations

I'm looking to relegate my 16 inch sport (10spoke) OEM wheels to snow tire use and replace them with a 5-spoke 16 inch alloy wheel. I like the style (and price) of the Borbet E/H/T, Mille MigliaII-2 and Sport Edition Valore. Any info on the differences in these wheels or what I'm not getting by not spending $1000 each for more expensive single piece alloys?

I heard Borbets were soft

16" should be safe. I have some 16" Type Cs and never had a problem.

if you dont care about weight, get a used set of the S4 17's

they are always for sale by the S4 guys. I just saw a set in the classifieds for like 500 for the entire set. I have always liked that look...there are alot of nice looking wheels out there for a good price, and the fac that you are staying at 16 will cut your cost down a lot.

Do you find the little rivets in your wheels hard to clean?

I love those wheels, but if it means EXTRA care on my wheels already, I'm not sure if I'm sold.. Or did you change brake pads to keep it easy?

Good question. That didn't even cross my mind when I bought them. That has not been an issue surprisingly enough. These wheels are very easy to clean. I use Simple Green on them when I wash the car.

One more question.. What's your suspension setup? Are you just running stock sport shocks/springs, or do you have another setup? I like the looks of your car with the 18's on there, and there doesn't seem to be much of a gap, but wanted to see if you managed to save some $$ and just use the sport shocks and springs??
