Default Waste of space. The current nav is all you should really need.

I use it all the time, and to be honest I've _never_ felt the need for anything with larger output. It tells you when and on what streets to turn, on the screen and in voice, and there's no need for the map itself, it's just a distraction from the road and there's no reason for it, really.

Factory nav. It was only made on the 2000 A4 1.8t for a few months.

Default I respectfully disagree

I have used the Nav system in both the new Acura's and in a new BMW 7 series. Both of which have much bigger displays than the one in the Audi.

Both are markedly superior. In Europe, I believe the Audi's come with the bigger screen on the center console.

The features found in the BMW and Acura far outstrip those of the Audi. I would consider spending the money for a Nav system in one of those vehicles. I would not spend a dime on the one in the A4.

Default never

Audi does not ship it outside of Europe. They beleive that people (U.S. people) need to keep their eyes on the road or center to the road..

I don't understand the logic but thats what I read..

Default You didn't really explain how it's superior - care to elaborate?

Also, that's incorrect about the European Audis coming with a larger nav. They have the same nav system. It is easier to put an aftermarket nav in, however, because European cars come by default without a stereo, or with a stereo that's a normal DIN, so it's easily replaceable, as opposed to the ones we have.

Default That's not true at all...

Look at my posts. Audi offers Nav on the S4, and I believe you can still get it on the A4 2.8. As I said, they only offered it for a few months on the 1.8t in 2000, but I was lucky enough to get it.
