Default when i turn my steering wheel, theres a plasticy sound coming from the steering wheel area.

if you scratch the plastic behind the top of steering wheel, it sounds like what im describing. it sounds like plastic rubbing on plastic. i checked around the steering wheel, but there isnt any visible part touching the plastic. can there be wires inside that turn when i turn? if so, how do i remove the plastic covering the steering wheel area?

Default could be the cable retractor (dont know the p.c. term) that connects the wires to the steering wheel

and makes sures that they dont get tangled... have you dont some suspension work recently???

Default Here you go..

It's called a spiral spring or airbag igniter. Whichever you prefer. Not a job for the faint of heart (or technically proficient). Need to remove the steering wheel and the bag. A few screws and voiiillllllllaaa!! Recommend dealer or someone who knows what they're doing (could be you, I'm not sure).HTH

Default It's not really a malfunction....

it's just the spring rubbing against the housing, the only time to be worried is if the air bag light comes on or blinks.

Default not sure... however...

it could lead to your airbag/horn disconnecting... your steering i dont think will be effected but the other two will be disabled... if it indeed is that which is causing the problem.
