Who else has had to relay their VVME HID kit? (headlight warning indicator fix inside)
I was having issues after the car was warm.
Here's the scenario, drive car it's hot outside, park comeback 5-10 mins later and HID's flicker like crazy (won't ignite) This always seemed to happen away from home. Finally happened in my driveway. I grabbed a piece of wire and jumpered from ballast power direct to the battery and bam! it powered straight up. I grabbed a couple relays out of my parts 4kq and wired them up nice and clean, but then i got the stupid headlight out warning! :(I tried a few things and came up with running the city light bulbs off the original headlight wiring. This seems to have done the trick. I was just curious if anyone else has had to relay their HID's I already ran a dedicated ground first and tried upping the fuse to a 20amp to help initial startup current. That seemed to help for a bit but the problem resurfaced. I guess we shall see as the summer months are approaching who else experiences similar issues. All in all it seems like a good long term solution. If anyone is interested i'll post up pics. -richard |

i had to relay my hids too since stock wiring isnt upto snuff. they would fail to ignite both. only 1 at a time. works perfectly now. i have a 1998 a4.
