Windscreen Washer Problem

I got an A4 1.8T 1997 model and having a problem with the Windscren washer pump sensor. The pump is working o.k but the volcano icon is showing on the dash to indicate that the level is low, even though there is water in the bottle.

Could the sensor in the pump be falty or is it a wiring fault. Can I check any of the wires to make sure.

I don't have the jets on the bumper, but the jets on the windscreen do, just that the dash is saying that the water needs topping up, which it does not.

Curious... Do you use RainX IceRemover in there? Generic winter stuff? Summer stuff? Water?

I use standard screen wash stuff, generally.
But as I have taken the pump off this weekend and cleaned it, the bottle just has water in it for now. But the fault was there before this.

Could it be a fault on the pump??
Because when I clened it out it was ok for about 2 hours and then came back up with the icon on the dask.
