Is it wise to chip a '98 1.8TQ w/56k miles on it? Besides APR and Neuspeed chips, anyone have any links to GIAC or any others? How do chips usually last?

Chipping @ 56k miles = Chipping @ 5k miles.

I've been chipped for 50k miles . . . absolutely NO problems.

Check out www.pes-tuning.com or www.awe-tuning.com for GIAC chips.

You have had no problems? GIAC is the way to go? There are so many opinions on these chips it is hard to decide.

they are all about the same (ducks head). go with the local tuner as they can correct problems

I won't recommend ONE chip over another, but I've had NO problems with my APR chip.
