Default Would having too high of coolant to water mix cause the heater not to get hot

I changed my radiator back in September and I'm still having issues with my heater and now I'm wondering if my coolant to water ratio is off. My heater is warm if I'm driving, but at an idle it feels cool.

Not a mixture issue. More likely needs to be bled at the heater core.

Is your coolant running at the right temp? Could be thermostat.

I think a bad t-stat would produce the opposit - high temps at idle, cooler while driving.

open your coolant cap just a little bit so air can escape and drive around like that for a day or so

You are right. I read it wrong, nevermind.

Default Restriction in the heater core would do that.

I would remove the hoses at the back firewall connector, and try to use a garden hose to flush out the heater core.

what coolant are you using,? has it ever been flushed or cleaned? Does the expansion tank have any muck in it?

Default The coolant is g12 and is brand new

In September I replaced the radiator, lower hose, oil cooler and expansion tank. The coolant is as pink as can be.

The thermostat is fine. I replaced that a few months ago.

Default Was the radiator packed in those white foam peanuts?

Unless the ends were plugged there could be one stuck in the system. Seem that happen before. My guess is the valve that allows the coolant into the core is failing but its worth some diagnostics.
