Your maintenance costs
I was wondering how much it cost you to maintain your a4. I am looking to buy one and was wondering how long you have owned your car, what needed to be replaced and how much you have had to spend. Specifically on the 1.8T models.

no upgrades i would say the oil change, plugs
if no major things it is pretty cheap
tires, oil, filter, plugs, valve cover
big things, Control Arms, turbo, timing belt
all are 200-500 range which divided over the course of which they fail is about 200 a year in funds
so i would say 400-600 bux on avg per year over a course of 5 year ownership if you fix ur own problems and replace with stock and no upgrades

Audi's are nothing -- My Rover has cost me about $15K in parts/labor in 5 months.
Of course I have been swapping in a TDI motor and completely reworking the entire truck, and I mean *everything*. LOL.
And the labor has been mine (thank gawd!), but I've been keeping track of the time.
The A4's i have owned required about the same maint. costs as any other older Audi - a little more than the BMW's I've owned but strangely not as much as the VW's I've had.
I always do my own work though.

Alot. The family is on its second A4(00 30v)and the repair list reads like a "who's who" of automotive parts. Having said that, I like to keep the cars in perfect running order, no unexpected break downs. Is that your car thats usually parked near the college?
