Default 1.8t overheats once a day, initial warm up

Audi 2005, b6, 1.8t quattro, 200k km

I start, warmup coolant during idle to 90 celcium. Enter highway, after 20 seconds temperature raises to 120 (if i'm very very gentle on gas, below 3k rpm) or to max temperature if i press gas to full. Stays overheated for 5 seconds then goes back to 90 for the rest of the day or until car fully cools off down to 0.

Every second day i add coolant to reservoar cause level is half inch below minimum.

I stopped to on highway yesterday when it hit 120 celsium looked at coolant it was below min a little (quatter inch). After 10 km drive to work it was normal again.

So, slowly losing coolant, overheats once a day during initial entrance on highway. My mechanic said he doesn't know what's wrong (replaced thermostat and coolant, bled cooling with opened reservoir). Drives and runs perfectly.

If it has a slow leak have you tried to replace the water pump? I mean the water is leaking from somewhere and they are known to fail. My 1.8t has had two of them in 155k. Last time replaced with a metal impeller. There is a weep hole on the water pump they say to let you know it’s going bad. Mine was leaking from the seal on the pump. You could tell it was Bad once it was off.

Default No heat but engine overheats

I have a 2004 Audi A4 I made the mistake of adding a leak seal. Took it in they replaced the thermostat then said the radiator was clogged they flushed out the whole system 4 times. I ended up replacing the radiator and left it on for hour and a half bleeding the system but no heat. Top hose on heater core wasn’t hot but the bottom was really hot. Never overheated the engine until I revved it up. Do you think I have a clogged heater core and a faulty water pump?
