2002 Audi A4 Stock Radio Wires


So I bought an Audi with an aftermarket head unit, but I have a better one that I wanted to replace it with. But unfortunately the previous owner, instead of doing it the correct way and getting an aftermarket wiring harness, decided to cut the stock harness off and just electrical tape in his aftermarket head unit. So I have two options, do what he did and just connect my head units wiring harness to the stock wires, or get a stock wiring harness and connect it to the wires in the picture, then get an aftermarket wiring harness and plug it all in. My dilemma is, I can't find an accurate color code of the wires in the picture to connect to, and I also can't seem to find the stock wiring harness that goes to my car. I found ones that are close, but not exact. Same for the color codes, close but not exact. Any suggestions?

Call an a foreign auto recycler, like Tom's in CT (800-973-5506). They're pretty nice there. Ask them to find an 02 with the original radio (I don't know if it makes a difference whether it's the standard one or the Bose), cut off the end of the harness and send it to you. I don't think it will be expensive. Shokan.com is Audi-specific, but probably twice as much.
