Default 2002 Model year - Avoid?

I'm looking at a fully optioned 2002 - high mileage for the year at 46K, but the price would be appropriate at ~$20K, and at least it's still got a little bit of warranty left. Plus, it's a pretty safe bet those miles are mostly highway.

Any way, just wondering since '02 is the first year of the B6, if there are "typical" first year issues to be concerned with, and thus maybe I should geenrally avoid the '02 cars.

Also, this one is that medium blue color - is that denim blue?

Agreed, just ignition coils. I have encountered no other problems.

Thanks. Yea, I've heard about the coil-pack problem - I'm sure this has been covered, but how do you determine if the coils have been replaced with the new ones?

Was there an official recall on them, or do they have to fail before they'll be replaced under warranty? The car I'm looking at does have a miss - I'm wondering if it might be running on 3 cylinders.

Default are you buying it from an Audi dealer? if so, they have an extended warranty to 100k

otherwise - just take it in before you hit 50,000.

No, it's actually at a Toyota dealer, so it's not "Audi Certified" with a warranty to 100K. But still, like you say, I've got 4K miles to get it in.

Default The first year of production is actually 2001 in Europe. I've had minimal problems, mostly squeaks

and rattles....which have all been taken care of really well by the dealership. For what it's worth, I would probably stick to getting an Audi Assured vehicle so you get the extra 2yr/100k mile warranty.
