I have a 2003 Audi A4 quattro, automatic 5 speed tiptronic transmission, 3.0 v6 engine. All of a sudden it went into fail safe and I cleared the codes It went back to normal until it went to shift into 4th gear. Everytime that it goes to shift out of 3rd gear it is like the transmission goes into neutral. I have tried changing the transmission fluid and filter. I was reading things and it seems like there were problems with this models TCM. My question is has this happened to anyone else? Is the TCM my problem? If so do I need to find an exact same one or are there interchangeable ones? Or is my Transmission done? Also at the same time my low beam for my head lights went and i only have high beams is there something that is just crazy with my electrical? Any help and advice would be appreciated.
