Im thinking that may be my issue as well, but wouldnt the vagcom give us an error code for that?

I'm getting really tired of dumping money on this car, I dont mind replacing parts if they are needed and solve the problem, but its aggravating spending time and money and at the end you still have the same issue. (In my case, I mad it worst)

Hey guys, just wanted to check back and let you know that I got mine fixed! Finally! At first I changed the ABS left speed sensor and it did no good. After doing some research I took out my ABS module and sent it in to get it repaired. I got it back less then a week later. The ESP and ABS lights have been off ever since. I did it through www.cheapabs.com Legit place, also saved me a ton of money compared to buying a new ABS module Thanks.

Do you know specifically what they do to it? Guess I could follow the link, but am feeling lazy.

Hello there;
Similar/more problems to 1996 A8 2,8: First the ABS activated below may be 3 mph, making the pump run, and the wheel sticking - front left. Was to a workshop, they determined the ring was OK, but the sensor needed to be replaced, they said. I got one from China (part # 4D0 927 803) (original was Wabco 441 032 721 0 (33.95 PRI 001). Price from China was USD 60.00. I replaced the sensor with the new one, tested: Now the slow speed activating has disappeared; but the ABS do now activate at app. 25 mph, making the pump running. And the pump are running for a while, making ABS failure alarm, and ABS trip. I guess I tomorrow will replace the original one again, after has cleaned from a little dirt. Did someone have the same problem? May be I need to replace the hydraulic unit?

Actually, I buyed this first generation A8 for test. After some while with the BMW E38 740. The car is wonderful to drive, but is full of failures: The ABS, start problems (weak key-signal), AC compressor has bad bearings, the rear speakers do not work (Nokia), leaking oil pressure switch. I gave a low price, but now I would likely quite it for nothing, and buy a ewer one a new chance.

Folks! I replaced my drivers side sensor yesterday, more or less same failure came up (abs activated from low speed). Was my fault, I checked today, and the sensor missed 3 mm from correct position. Should be 24 mm from top of sensor to hub. Now the ABS system seems to be OK, Thank You!
